Curry Masala Recipe

Aloo Gobi with Indian Meal Kit Curry Masala

INGREDIENTS

​

2 Medium Potatoes (Aloo), Peeled & Cubed

1 Medium Cauliflower (Gobi), Cut Into Florets

3 Tbsp Oil (Vegetable or Olive oil)

1 Tsp Cumin Seeds

1 Medium Onion, Finely Chopped

1 Tbsp Ginger-Garlic Paste

2 Medium Tomatoes, Finely chopped (or ½ Cup Tomato Puree)

2 Tbsp Indian Meal Kit curry masala

½ Tsp Turmeric Powder

½ Tsp Red Chili Powder (Adjust to Taste)

1 Tsp Salt or As Per Your Taste

½ Cup Water (As Needed)

Fresh Coriander Leaves, Chopped

Lemon Juice (Optional)

Things you will need

 

Chopping Board, Potato Peeler, Knife, Medium Pan with Lid , Spoon to Mix and 1/2 Cup of Water. Review all the steps before starting.

Instructions

 

Prep the vegetables
Wash and cut potatoes into medium cubes. Cut cauliflower into florets. Soak cauliflower in warm salted water for 10 minutes, then rinse and drain.

 

Heat the oil
Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.

Make the masala base

Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.

Add ginger-garlic paste and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.

Add tomatoes & spices
Add tomatoes, turmeric, red chili powder, Indian Meal Kit Curry Masala, and salt.
Cook until the oil starts separating from the masala.

Cook potatoes first
Add potato cubes and mix well with the masala. Cover and cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Add cauliflower
Add cauliflower florets and mix gently. Add a little water if needed. Cover and cook on low heat for 10–12 minutes until vegetables are tender.

Finish the dish
Garnish with fresh coriander and a squeeze of lemon juice.

 

Serving Suggestions

  • Serve hot with roti, paratha, or naan

  • Pairs well with dal and plain rice
